FAQ about our meetings:

1. Who can attend?
Any woman interested in breastfeeding can attend, as well as their female helper. (We have special meetings open to dads and male helpers).
We welcome everyone, no matter what your breastfeeding journey looks like. Whether you want to breastfeed for a day or 5 years, whether you wish to supplement with formula or exclusively breastfeed your baby, all are welcome and will receive support. LLL meetings are a safe space for everyone to share their experiences, ask questions and give advice without being judged.

2. Do I need to register to attend?
Only for virtual meetings for security purposes. All the information given to register is deleted after the event. For in-person meetings, you can just show up.

3. What if I can't make it on time?
You have to take care of a very demanding tiny human (or several of them!). We've been there. You can show up on time or 10 minutes before the end. We'll welcome you anyway and we'll be happy to see you.

4. How much does it cost?
It's free. La Leche League is a non-profit run by volunteers. Our goal is to support parents who wish to breastfeed and spread fact and science-based information about breastfeeding. Mothers shouldn't think it twice before reaching out for help, this is why all of our meetings and consultations are free of charge.
We do accept donations to help us keep on with our group in Longmont. Anything helps. However, It is not required. Click here to learn how to support us.

5. I'm supplementing with Formula, I want to wean, am I still welcome to LLL meetings?
Absolutely! Everyone's breastfeeding journey looks different. Some breastfeed exclusively for 5 years, others do mix feedings for a few days, "just to try". We'll help you no matter what your goal is. Our meetings are a safe space. We'll give you the best advice we can to help you achieve whatever goal you have.

6. I've already weaned my baby, can I still attend?
Yes! Your experience with breastfeeding, no matter what it looked like, is precious to other first-time mothers. You may also miss your breastfeeding relationship with your child and find some comfort by remembering it with us. So don't be shy, we'll welcome you with open arms!

7. Can I bring my baby?
Yes! Definitely! We do encourage mothers to take their babies with them. Feel free to leave them home if what you wish for is a couple of hours of freedom. In any case, do not feel bad if baby starts crying in the middle of the meeting or if they fill in their diapers. That's what babies do! πŸ˜‰

8. What about siblings?
Yes, siblings are welcome as well.

9. I have not showered for the last 3 days….
We know what it is! Come as you are: in your most comfortable pajama, with your lunch/dinner in a box to eat while chatting with us, or with dry spit-up milk on your shirt. This is what motherhood looks like sometimes and we love it!

10, I'm a mess, I feel like the worst mother in the world, I don't deserve to be part of a breastfeeding group.
First of all, you're not! Secondly, we, the leaders, are true women who went through a lot of joy, but also a lot of struggles with our kids. Not only we won't judge you whatever your feelings are, but we probably have gone through the same. Share your struggles with us and you'll hopefully leave our meeting feeling better than when you arrived.
Here's a great testimony of a mother who came to our meetings and what she has found: https://www.todaysparent.com/baby/how-la-leche-league-saved-me/

11. What if I'm not a mess and I'm the happiest mother in the world?
Wonderful! Then come to socialize and share your tips with other mums. We love success stories.
